Medical Massage Therapy
What is medical massage? Medical massage is defined as medically necessary massage, which is usually prescribed by a physician. Medical massage is generally practiced in relation to a specific goal focused on improving health of patients and is often covered by health insurance.
Medical massage is helpful to individuals who suffer from an assortment of health conditions, including repetitive motion injuries, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, muscle spasms, neuromuscular conditions, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, chronic headaches, whiplash, rotator cuff injuries, and soft-tissue injuries as well.
Additionally, medical massage increases blood supply to skeletal muscles and other body components. Furthermore, medical massage is also evidenced to stimulate the nervous system as well. Overall, medical massage is a noninvasive therapy that produces beneficial health results to those experiencing numerous health-related illnesses and injuries.
Corrective Exercises/Core Strengthening/Athletic Performance
SpineForce optimizes the performance of athletes and sports enthusiasts by conditioning up to 80 muscles at once. It stimulates key muscle chains, which improves endurance, agility and balance. SpineForce trains the patient to use precise, powerfully controlled movements which decreases muscle fatigue, reduces the risk of sports injury and speeds recovery times.
Conditioning the body from the inside out, SpineForce prevents the onset of debilitating structural conditions. It visibly improves bone stature and physique. SpineForce aids in the prevention of osteoporosis, while simultaneously toning and firming the body for a firmer, slimmer figure.
A gentle rejuvenating machine for seniors, SpineForce improves mobility, balance, coordination, flexibility and posture while reducing the onset of chronic back pain, fatigue and stiffness. SpineForce improves the quality of life.
We also teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 30-40%. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
Lordex Spinal Decompression Therapy
Developed by Dr. John Boren at the Lordex Spine Institute of Houston, Texas, and based on the principles researched at major universities and in clinical settings, Lordex relieves patients of their back pain by re-establishing functional capacity and decompressing the sensitive nerve fibers non-operatively. That is, without surgery. By "reeducating" the nerve fibers through subtle movement, patients are able to restore health to the sensory nerves; transmitting healthy signals rather than terrifying, debilitating pain. Patients suffering with herniated discs, degenerative joint disease, sciatica and facet syndromes now have this option; a treatment that has been demonstrated to be more successful in the alleviation of pain.

Physical Therapy
In addition to two full time chiropractors, Advanced Back and Neck Care also has a full-time physical therapist; Rochelle Shapiro, P.T., as part of our "Wellness Team".
Physical therapy is the science of medicine that seeks to return patients to the highest possible degree of personal independence. Rochelle and Dr. Asay work with patients with specific muscular, and skeletal conditions. Our physical therapy department also is involved in prevention programs to assist people of all ages in maintaining optimal health and physical fitness.
Rochelle plans treatment programs after extensive P.T. and Chiropractic evaluations of each patient and review of his or her medical history, while following consultation with the patient's physician.
